Inspiration from an Old Favorite

Years ago when I lived in Cincinnati, where I'm from, I discovered this delicious dish in a favorite restaurant that I we used to frequent! It was "Carol's on Main" on Main street obviously in downtown Cincy! The original dish was called the "DEAL" a basket of steak fries topped with lots of cheddar cheese, bacon, sour cream and chives. Usually served with a dipping sauce of your choice. My recipe very closely follows the same concept but I chose traditional cut fries flavored with garlic and then added the toppings.

So simple to make:
Cook fries to your liking, but make sure that they are crisp.
Once finished put hot fries on baking or toaster oven baking sheet depending on amount.
Top with sharp cheddar cheese, bacon bits(that have been warmed)put in toaster oven or under broiler for just a few minutes until melted together.
Transfer to a plate and top with sour cream and chives.

So simple and easy and very tasty. This is not going to get you in to any diet books or your favorite skinny jeans for that matter. They sure are good though!

Thanks "Carol's on Main" for the inspiration!
