Kick Start

After my recent realizations that something must change with my weight, I have been endlessly searching for just a little something to get over that first initial hurtle! After seeing the picture of myself below, there was no more denying the fact that the weight has crept back in.

I can't even say that I am eating unhealthy foods. Sure there are the occasional splurges on things that I would only have every now and then, but for the most part I have tried to keep it pretty healthy. Then, while watching TV the other night I heard someone say the famous line, "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"! How true, but tell it to me as I'm diving in to a plate of pasta carbonara or a nice basket of french fries. I just know that moderation is the key. There are no magic pills or potions and there is no one single plan to make it just go away. The picture to the left was a product of lack of movement, a little depression and using food to comfort myself. I am going to try the Kick Start diet which essentially has you eating foods with a low Glycemic Index so that your body can actually start burning the stored fat. Then it reintroduces all of your normal foods back in to your life after the very first week. Something just to get started and get moving. After all, one can't live on soup alone!

The goal is to get to the weight I was in the picture from three years ago. I was between 185-190 and always managed to keep it right in that range. If I gained a little too much I always knew exactly how to reel it back in.

I'm looking forward to getting this thing Kick Started and looking and feeling better!
