Loving "Will and Grace" and the raw and biting tongue of the one and only Karen Walker, I wanted to create a fab cocktail for the next time there's a get together!
I originally came up with the concept of my V8 Fusion Martini while living in Charlotte, NC. I lived just a couple of miles from the local liquor store and local grocery. Loving a good cocktail and loving vodka, but hating a massive hangover, I had to come up with a way to re-hydrate and keep vitamins while getting a little buzz.
The solution, My V8 Fusion Martini! A full serving of fruits and a full serving of vegetables, add your favorite vodka and you have rounded out the food groups!
Here's the recipe:
-Large Martini glass(Not those baby 3oz. ones that you see in some restaurants)
-2oz. of your favorite vodka (I like Svedka, Smirnoff, or Absolut. No need to go crazy expensive in this recipe because the vodka will take on the flavor of the juice. Don't go crazy cheap though. That's just bad manners.)
-2.5oz. V8 Fusion Cranberry/Blackberry juice
-Fresh fruit for garnish (I use apple slices, blackberries, blueberries which ever you like)
-In a shaker combine vodka and juice and shake vigorously until icy cold and small crystals form.
-Pour into your martini glass, add garnish and enjoy
The one thing that I will say about this drink is that, because of the strong flavor of the V8 you can over do it before you know it! Have fun and drink responsibly!
