American Style with French Flare

This morning I opted for an omelette for breakfast. Really no big deal there. I did, however, want to do a little something different and more decorative with my egg creation than just the normal egg and cheese omelette.  I decided to have my American style omelette with a touch of French style.

The primary differences between the classic American omelette and the French omelette isn't really that complicated or hard to distinguish. The American creation consists of eggs that have been cooked through with a touch of golden brown finish on the outside and the ingredients cooked into the eggs(meat, cheese, veggies) and is folded over just once creating a half moon look.  The French is a slightly less cooked egg and has just a wonderful yellow color from the yolks.  The ingredients here are usually added after the process is complete and then tossed in just before a tri-fold creating a kind of crepe or burrito look. The additional toppings or fillings for these are generally herbs and cheeses.

I just decided to go with a combination of the two.  An omelette that as golden and fluffy and stuffed with bacon and cheese and then added herbs and spices and did a classic French fold (Tri-fold). Served it up with some toast and orange juice and was ready to start my day.
