Don't Work Too Hard

Okay! I'm going to break this down and come clean.  I love the bread and pre-appetizers that are always offered at catered events and restaurants. One in particular is the beautiful and shiny yeast roll.  I have made these myself and I have went to pick up a few to go. Both are fine and both are equally tasty. However; there is no reason what so ever to make these from scratch. I guarantee you, if your enjoying one at a party, gathering or restaurant, they were NOT made from scratch.  Bottom line. DON'T WORK TOO HARD!!!  Your grocers freezer has an excellent selection of frozen yeast rolls. Most are not pre-risen or proofed. You're still going to have to grease the pan and sit them out at room temperature for 2-4 hours with cling wrap or a warm towel over them.

I say, even if your guests arrive early, they're still going to see these babies in YOUR pan rising! So why go through the trouble of preparing a dough from scratch.  Go to the store, let the rolls rise, then bake them off according to the instructions on the package.  Once you remove them from the oven brush them with your favorite butter or compound butter and serve them up.  In all actuality, everyone knows what a yeast roll tastes like. The real deal here is coming up with a special flavored butter or olive oil.  That's what people remember and that's what people will comment on!

Enjoy and remember to make it easy on yourself!
