Pumpkin Mousse Cake

For the Thanksgiving holiday, my friend William brought a fantastic alternative to the traditional pumpkin pie. William is the Baker and manager for the Valley Cafe in Dillard, GA. The creation that was delivered in person to my home was exquisite! The dessert that he showed up with was a four layered Pumpkin Mousse cake. So delicious and such a pleasant descent from the blah normal desserts that typically line the holiday dessert table.

He created the recipe as a cake of the month for the Valley Cafe in October and it was such a hit that it then carried over into November. It will now be a featured seasonal Autumn cake. Layers of moist spiced cake filled with the most divine pumpkin mousse oozing between each. Topped off with a caramel sauce that flows beautifully down the side. One slice easily fed up to three people.
